Green Flash Rayon Vert

Green Flash Rayon Vert  7%ABV Belgian Pale Ale

A: Pours a cloudy orangy amber with lofty creamy white head.

S: Smells of grainy pale malts, fruity, piney and earthy hops are accented with the complexity that Brettanomyces bottle complexity adds.  This beer is a great gateway beer into far more complex styles, but NOT for everyone.

T: A dance between fruity/earthy hops,  bready pale grains, spicy, estery Belgian yeast and the funk of a Brett finish.

M:  Medium bodied with a creamy texture lively carbonation and a dry finish.

D:  very drinkable but also great with food. 

Firestone Walker Pivo PilS

Firestone Walker  Pivo PilS 5.3%ABV

A: Pours a clear honey golden color with a frothy white head.

S:  Aromas of  hay, pale malts,  grassy, herbal, lemony hops,  with a touch of mild spice.

T:  Good combination of malt and hops.  Light bready  grains with balancing herbal hop bitterness.

M: Light body with a creamy texture, adequate carbonation and a clean, crisp finish.

D: Very drinkable and incredible paired with lighter fare that has bright contrasts

Estrella Damm Daura

Estrella Damm Daura  (Speciality Beer brewed with Ceoliacs Society 

5.4% European Pale Lager

A: This beer pours a brilliantly clear golden straw color with modest white head., minimal lacing or head retention.

S: Aromas of pale malt, mild hops,  with no real big flavors.

T:  Light, grainy malts with mild sweetness and hints of grassy and spicy hops in compliment..

M:  Light in body, crisp, bright carbonation and semi-dry lager finish.

D:  Very drinkable, especially on hot days, especially if you are Gluten Intolerant.  This is a “gluten free“beer that tastes like beer.

Food Pairings: :  This beer will pair with our lighter fare. 

*This beer was brewed with the Ceoliacs Society and has a gluten level of 6 ppm.(20 ppm is the acceptable limit for Coeliacs)  Unfortunately the FDA regulates any dietary “recommendations” so they are not allowed to label it as “Gluten Free” although most Gluten Intolerants would find this acceptable. 

Deschutes Chainbreaker White IPA

Deschutes Chainbreaker White IPA  5.6%ABV

A-Poured into a pint glass this definitely looks like a Belgian white...less than a finger of pure white head that quickly breaks down into just a skim layer. Fairly hazy and very lightly colored, it’s such a pale yellow there are tints of green when looking at this beer in the sunlight

S- Belgian wheat for sure- yeasty, sweet, orange, coriander and lemon followed by the fresh aromatic hops, very fruity (definitely Citra).

T- Wheaty- Belgian wheat, not German- and hoppy. There is quite a bit of spice bite in here too. Coriander upfront and then you get the orange in the background with the hops having a strong influence on the overall taste. Plenty of different flavors in here, complex.

M- Plenty of carbonation, medium bodied, no unwanted alcohol burn. Finish is a bit long. Slightly astringent and mouthdrying.

O- There is something in this beer for almost everyone; at least when the sun is shining. Sweet, dry, crisp, hops, breads, everyone can find something god to say about this beer. Awesome cross-over for those who claim they only like wheat beers. Deschuttes and Boulevard created two white IPAs in 2011; this beer evolved from those. 

Avery White Rascal

Avery White Rascal, 5.6%ABV Belgian Witbier

A: Light lemony yellow with small white head and cloudy appearance.

S- Lemony brightness with bready yeasts, and slight bubble gum smell.

T- Coriander and bubble gum from yeast flavors stand out. Light citrus/lemon taste.

M- Medium-bodied, smooth, light mouth coating after swallow. Wakes up the palate.

O- Very nice ... heavier than true Belgian Wits (true to stereotypes, Americans make everything bigger and higher in alcohol). Great for patio pounding, pairing with cheeses, fruits, light dishes, and veal. Enhances sweetness as well as bittering fruits like lime and lemon.

Avery Brewing, Ellie’s Brown Ale

Avery Brewing, Ellie’s Brown Ale, 12oz can 5.5% - Brown Ale

A: Pours a grand beer with a massive off-white/tan head that stick and retains very well. Beer colour is deep

brown/chocolate with mahogony stained edges. 

S:  The aroma is absolutely wonderful. Perfumy, floral, malty, toasty, bicuity with freshly milled grain powder

aromas and loads of caramel flavours that force the anticipation of a rather sweet brew. 

T: Silky smooth mouthfeel with a medium body. Malt flavours are very even. Caramel, earth, a bit nutty, touch of roasted,toasted and biscuit followed by a near sugary sweetness, but not too sweet. Hop flavours are perceived,

but not dominant ... providing balance and thin bitterness that seems to team up with the touch of roasted malt.

Hint (hint) of raisin that mingles with the hops. Finish goes a tad dry with some grain notes. 

D: A very tasty and well-executed American brown ale. If you're a brown ale fan, this is a must. Malty, balanced,

tamed hop character and a wonderful aroma. 

Food Pairings:  This beer is awesome by itself but also pairs well with food.  

Firestone Walker Sucaba Barleywine

 Firestone Walker Sucaba Barleywine 13% 22 oz $32.75

A- Poured and settled a dark cola color. Shows lots of carbonation and a quick sprouting and fading light brown head, otherwise a light brown ring around the sides. Lots of ruby showing when held to the light. Not a lot of head retention to this at all.

S- Carmel, lots of carmel. Undertones of bourbon, vanilla, and coconut. had a bottle in May and the vanilla and coconut nose was much bigger and the Carmel was a bit softer. Still a good nose though. Alcohol is quite well hidden.

T- Syrupy butterscotch, bourbon, touches of oak, vanilla and noticeable alcohol. Gums got numb on first few sips of the beer.

M- Thick, syrupy and slightly jam like. Get some notes of strawberry jam in the mouth. Bourbon and the barrel are really apparent in the mouth as well. Bourbon alcohol finish to this with touches of jam like qualities. Starting to turn into a malt bomb. Medium full body and slightly more carbonation than it needed. A bit prickly at times.

O- The barrel notes far more obvious on the nose than in the tste, which makes this a more approachable barelywine than most. Just starting to develop the jam like qualities that barlewines have.
