(William’s) Sir Perry Pear Cider
Bristol, England
A: Pours a clear golden
yellow with just hints of foam remaining.
S: Aromas of pear
(Bartlett, Anjou, and bosch) with hints of lemon and light yeastiness.
T: Dry pears and light
apples dominate the flavor with a touch of lemony tartness and some indication
of a buttery caramel,
M: Light to medium in
body with a bright champagne carbonation.
D: Very drinkable,
however the sweetness can build in this one.
Pairing: Think cheese,
charcuterie, salty bar snacks, and light creamy desserts.
Straffe Hendrik Belgian Quadrupel 11%ABV
A: Pours a slightly
cloudy brown with gorgeous red highlights and a lofty beige head.
S: Aromas of squaw
bread, molasses, dark fruits, dark chocolate.
T: Starts light and
floral then succumbs to the rich roasted malts and complexities of the belgian
yeast esters. Notes of apple, raisin, brown sugar, earthy caramel.
M: Med- full in body with
modest carbonation and a sincere alcohol warmth.
D: This is quite the sipper
but would also pair incredibly with food.
